Billionaire Couture Autumn Winter 2014

Taking inspiration from the medieval era, Billionaire’s Autumn Winter 2014 collection merges two cultures – 14th century Europe with 14th century Asia.

Creative Director Mario Chiarenza marries quintessential and signature Billionaire cuts with bold colours, striking prints and luxurious texture. Church stained-glass windows from the middle-ages were the inspiration for the rich colour pallet of chili pepper, blackberry, plum, wine and vermillion, whereas traditional artistic motifs from Asia, such as the majestic tiger and other intricate oriental influences are featured on silk blazers and shirts.

Continuing the 14th century European inspiration from design to fabric, Billionaire has chosen opulent and ornate brocade to feature as a key fabric throughout the collection. Exotic skins and fur, eponymous with Billionaire’s dedication to luxury play a major part in the Autumn Winter 2014 collection.

This collection presents fiery red crocodile-skin bomber jackets and weekend bags, python-skin detailing on puffer jackets as well as wide fox fur collars on classic cashmere coats. Details that embody this season’s medieval theme are signature denim pockets, sweaters’ crests and slippers, narratively embroidered with armored knights, tiger and dragon designs.
