Timeless Italian Fashion
Founded in Rome in 1945, Brioni is recognized as the world’s most prestigious menswear luxury house. Under the leadership of CEO Fabrizio Malverdi and the creative direction of Nina-Maria Nitsche, Brioni develops and manufactures sartorial ready- to-wear, leather goods, shoes, eyewear and fragrance.
The foundation of the company’s identity is the Bespoke service, entirely custom made garments with an unparalleled level of craftsmanship.
Brioni was established in Rome in 1945 as a men’s tailoring company by Master Tailor Nazareno Fonticoli and entrepreneur Gaetano Savini who opened their first shop on Via Barberini 79 where they offered bespoke garments, shoes and accessories in a range of exclusive materials.
Handcrafted to Perfection
The Company name was inspired by the Brijuni Islands in the Adriatic sea, a top vacation destination for the European jet-setters in the first decades of the twentieth century.
In 1952 Brioni hosted the first ever men’s fashion show at the Sala Bianca of PalazzoPitti in Florence, presenting fluid and effortless suits in vivid colours and sophisticated fabrics.
The innovative silhouettes, as opposed to the conventional English style, transformed Brioni into the reference of Roman tailoring - a new ideal of elegance appreciated and recognized worldwide.
Forward Thinking Philosophy
The brand’s increasing success pushed the founders to invest in a new form of production.
Maintaining a pure sartorial approach, in 1959 they pioneered the concept of prêt-àcouture opening an atelier in Penne, Abruzzo. Dubbed Brioni Roman Style, the new facilities sealed the international expansion of the brand thanks to an improved production capacityof the company’s trademark handmade quality.
Throughout its history the Roman effortless elegance and highest craftsmanship excellence have guided the house’s philosophy and emerged through the collections.
